What follows, is a list of faults that may assist when trying to restore your CT54 Payphone. The list isn't exhaustive, there are probably plenty more faults that I'm unaware of.
Each fault is pre-fixed with either the letter 'R' or 'C'. I think these equate to;
R = Reported (this event signifies the date and time the fault occurred and was reported to the management system)
C = Cleared (this event signifies the date and time the fault was resolved)
Cashbox Missing
This relates to the Vault door switch being open. Make sure pins 5 and 6 are shorted together on the 'Sensor5' connector of the Interface PCB.
Validator Blocked
This indicates the Infra-Red sensor is either faulty / blocked / dirty within the coin validator mounted at the top of the Scanway unit. This fault should also show up in the Maintenance mode menu (Option 1. Test Menu > 3. Sensors) with the first sensor ENTRY(1) showing a BLOCKED status.
Called Party Answer (CPA)
Sensor5 Blocked
If you have a Sensor5 fitted, clean the two LED's contained in the unit with a cotton bud and Isopropyl Alcohol. Alternatively, if you don't have a Sensor5 unit, construct one with a couple of IR LED's (see the restoration page).
Keypad Fault
The keypad has 7-pins (PL1 to PL7) however, the ribbon connector is an 8-way connector. Ensure the red wire of the ribbon connector is aligned with PL1. Sometimes the terminals can become corroded, so remove the connector and if necessary clean the contacts using an emery board / contact cleaner.
Handset Disconnect
This one is fairly self-explanatory. Check the handset connector is fully plugged in to the socket on the interface board. If this error fails to clear, it could be the handset is faulty and needs replacing.
Bad Tariff Table
If you are getting this error message, then it means the Payphone has been de-commissioned and lost its Tariff Table that is used for billing purposes. Sadly, I don't know what format the tariff table is in so it's not possible to resolve this fault. Any information you know on how to resolve this though, would be greatly welcome.
Misc Info
Not sure what this error message signifies, but is included here for good measure.
Low Battery
Only applicable if the CT54 is powered by 2 x 6v DC re-chargeable batteries. Error message pretty much speaks for itself really.
Empty_Battery
Only applicable if the CT54 is powered by 2 x 6v DC re-chargeable batteries. Error message pretty much speaks for itself really.
